2018 Normandy and Paris

*NOTE: TRIP IS FULL; ENROLLMENT IS CLOSED

June 5-18, 2018 (option with 5-night Seine River cruise) or June 5-16, 2018 (no cruise)
Now and then Doubloon Tours ventures a bit farther from home in search of the roots of our unique culture.

For the first time, DOUBLOON TOURS is incorporating a river cruise option in a tour experience!

On June 5th we fly to Paris and immediately transfer to the city of Rouen, capital of Normandy, and check into our 4-star hotel in the heart of the Old City. We will spend 5 days and nights exploring the towns and countryside of Normandy, making forays to points of interest that will include Le Havre, Trouville, Caen, Bayeux, Étretat, Giverny, and the D-Day beaches. Plumbing the rich (and creamy) depths of Norman gastronomy, we will make visits to sample the famous cheese at Pont-l'Évêque and savor the delicious apples, apple cider, apple brandy, and magical Calvados that is the pride of the region. And did we mention the luscious Camembert cheese?

On June 11th we'll return to Paris, and then those who opt for the cruise will embark on a 5-night all-inclusive Seine River cruise through Normandy (with some excursions from the boat) to the delightful coastal town of Honfleur. Whether you're drawn to the picturesque landscape so beloved by the Impressionists, the medieval heritage of William, Duke of Normandy (and Conqueror of England), or the history of the Allied invasion and D-Day landings, we will discover a region full of wonders.

Disembarking in Paris on June 16th, we'll have 2 nights in the City of Lights (based on the Rive Gauche) before heading back home on the 18th. It's time enough for a couple of visits, a little shopping or urban exploration, and of course a little wining and dining in this magical city.

Those who prefer dry land will spend 5 magical days and nights in Paris, exploring the "road less traveled" and wondrous but lesser known sites and museums in the City of Lights. We'll also take an excursion to the nearby city of Chartres, where we'll marvel at its Gothic Cathedral and charming old town.

As usual, we plan to limit the group size, so get in touch asap if you would like to join us. The program cost of $4,350 (non-cruise option) includes round-trip airfare from New Orleans, all accommodations (double occupancy) with breakfast, all excursions and guided visits, transportation, and arrival and farewell dinners. The program cost of $5,300 (with cruise) include the above + the 5-night all-inclusive cruise (double occupancy), with all meals and drinks (open bar!) and excursions from the boat. A gala evening on board is included as well.

You're welcome to download a brochure for either/both trips: Normandy/Paris with cruise or Normandy/Paris without cruise.
